In 2003 a change was made and we replaced the first golf instructor with a new instructor in Lisa Educate from Las Positas Golf Course in Livermore, Ca . Lisa was a 3 time All-American from San Jose State (National Champions 1992 ) and 3 time Curtis Cup participant. As 2003 came to an end that clone set of irons was replaced Callaway X16. that two ball putter was replaced with a Henry Griffith Blade custom fitted by David Balbi at Perpetual Golf and that little 5 club golf bag was now replaced by a Ping K56 carry bag. Wow what a difference a year makes. That 137 from year ago has also changed to a best score in 2003 of 40, 40 (80 total)

1. Pleasanton Fairways Junior Open February 23, 2003
This was Casie's best tournament from tee to green. She at 7 years of age drove and selected clubs better than at any other time. With a 46 from 1800 yards she did great finishing in the top 10 in the 11 and under category out of 20 golfers. Chipping, pitching, and the sand game were / are outstanding. With 20 putts Casie's putting is getting allot better. Scoring aside she learned something very valuable again in addition to gaining some more friendships. Tournaments are meant to be fun and this one was.
2. Sacramento Jr. Easter Championship - April 16th and 17th - 2003
This was Casie's best tournament from tee to green. She at 7 years of age drove and selected clubs better than at any other time. With a 40 the first day she did great job keeping the leaders close. With a 35 the second day she finished in the top 3 in the 11 and under category. Casie tied for low round ( see below). Chipping, pitching, and the sand game were / are outstanding. With 14 putts Casie's putting is awesome. Great job Casie. (Thanks Lisa)
3. Castlewood Junior April 21 and 22, 2003
Casie had a fine tournament did not putt very well on these 2 days fast fast greens. How can someone ( nameless 7 year old) get to a par 5- 490+ in 3 shots and 4 putt. I saw it all day from allot of different players From tee to green awesome. The green still needs some work. Casie is a good putter at times , a great putter at times and a poor putter at times. Aren't we all. It is how little we are poor putters that we can make a difference. Still had a lot of fun even in the hail and rain the first day. Tournaments are meant to be fun and this one was.

4. Salinas Little Peoples Championship - June 19-20, 2003
Awesome !!!!! With a 38, 35 over two days ( and a closest to the pin) Casie had fun and did great job. Much better then the 50's last year First place in the 8 and under category by 20 strokes. Also Casie 3rd overall in the 11 and under group. Due to illness not all peoples could attend so to that end these pictures are helpful. By the way tournaments are meant to be fun and this one was again.
5. Grayson Woods Junior Classic - June 21,2003
With a 40 ( and a closest to the pin from 160 yards) Casie had fun and did great job. She got a little confused about yardages and wind. She under clubbed, over clubbed miss clubbed. This tournament was great fun ( great hot dogs) and another learning experience.

6. Mountain Shadows Foxtail Junior Classic - June 22,2003
With a 49 Casie had fun and but played horribly. She did not realize where the yardage makers were having never played this course before. Casie gained great experience and should do better at this tournament next year

7. NCPGA Ty Caplin Memorial/Ben Hogan Pro-Junior Championship Elkhorn CC, Stockton CA - July 7,2003
With an 86 Casie and Lisa finished in first place in the 11 and under category (only entry) However the 86 was also better then the 12-13 year old girls category as well so well done.

8. US Kids Qualifier Poppy Ridge, Livermore CA - July 8,2003
With a 36 ( with a 6 putt !!!!????) Casie finished first qualified to go to Williamsburg Virginia and play in the US Kids World Championships as the Northern Californian representative in girls 8 and under category . WHAT A RUSH !!!!!

9. Callaway Junior Worlds , San Diego, CA - July 15-18,2003
This was Casie's first international style event. Even though Casie won the putting contest she finished in the middle of he pack in this 3 day Tournament. We all learned allot and met some great folks
10. US Kids Golf World Championships, Williamsburg, VA - July 30- August 2, 2003
What a rush !!!!!. Casie's second international event. And the best to date in her young life. Casie won the chipping contest and finished tied for 6th (60 + kids from all over the globe). Even though caddy (dad) sucked it was truly a time to remember . Check out all the friends and pictures it was awesome
11. San Leandro City Junior, San Leandro, CA - August 7, 2003
Casie did ok with a 39. I think she is getting used to how long she is. She made some great shots ( par from out of the sand) She is 7 as I keep forgetting. The 39 was a great first tournament at this facility. Casie had fun and did great job. By the way tournaments are meant to be fun and this one was again.. 12. Las Positas Junior Golf Championships - July 9 - August 13, 2003 ( every Wednesday)
This year (2003) as last year Casie had a very successful LP Junior Champions. From low average score to overall winner she again gained valuable experience. Lisa Educate ran a great program this year. Thanks again for letting Casie move up in age groups. If you have a child in the Livermore, California area and want them to play golf send them to Poppy Ridge. Check out the pictures and video
Great experience. The Golf Channel ran an awesome competition. Considering there was no entry fee and there were prizes ( Tiger Woods Bobble heads), medals and trophies This was just outstanding !!! Casie won the chipping and driving and finished second overall in the 8 and under category. This second place finish qualified Casie for the regional in Reno Nevada. Although due to some poor putting Casie did not qualify for the nationals in Florida a great time was had by all.
14. Resort at Squaw Creek Junior Championships. Squaw Valley CA -October 18, 19, 2003
Great tournament. WINDY WINDY WINDY the first day. Because of some shall we say creative score keeping casie was a tied for second place. Everything being equal it was interesting end to great 2003 golf season. The first full golf season in Casie's short life.
14. Publix Junior Championships. Miami Florida ( Doral ) -December 21-23, 2003
First of all what can you say about being in Florida in December other than WOW. Casie met some great new friends. Her fourh place tie gave all of us something to better in the future. As this concluded the 2003 tournament schedule I hope it left lasting impression on Casie that I hope she will carry for the rest of her life. Everything being equal it was interesting end to great 2003 golf season. With a brand new swing we all look forward to a great 2004.
